Fall Centers - Mrs. Batson's Kindergarten Class
Today my teachers planned a Fall Centers activity, where we did lots of Halloween and Fall activities! My Mommy got to come to class for it, I was so excited! Here are some pictures she took of us having fun doing the activities. They included estimating and counting with candy corns, decorating a pumpkin with candy, measuring, and making monster cookies! it was so fun!

I'm FIVE today!! Finally!!
My big day is finally here! I am FIVE! There was so much fun today!! All in celebration of me!!
First my Mommy wrote my Birthday ABCs on her blog here.
Then my Mommy snuck in my room while I was sleeping and took photos of me.
I woke to Balloons over my floor and all down the banister of our stairs. There were streamers wrapped around all the columns and banisters too!
Then I found Spongebob had visited and decorated the front yard!
On the way to school Mommy stopped for donuts!!
My Mom came and brought me my birthday lunch request... Taquitos and cupcakes for my whole class!
Daddy was waiting for me when I got off the bus!
And so were PRESENTS!!
Then we went out for frozen yogurt instead of cake.
And how can I forget my spirit rock!! My school has a cool big rock that Mommy and Daddy's can paint special for your birthday. I told my Mommy I wanted Ariel and she painted it for me!! I was so excited!
What a great 5th Birthday! I am a big girl now! :)

Kindergarten Meet The Teacher: 2013-2014 School Year
Now that we have moved to North Carolina, our children's school has changed (AGAIN!!). We are now proud Knights at "The Castle" aka Kensington Elementary. It is actually pretty cute how they have the inside of the school painted and decorated like a Castle and there are knights all over the office :) Here is Ryen with one of the knights and another of her reporting for her first full day of Kindergarten Orientation!
Later in the week it was time for Meet the Teacher!! We found out Ryen got Mrs. Batson! I swear God is blessing every aspect of our move here. Not only did we end up in a GREAT neighborhood but at one of the best schools in the County with not one but TWO amazing teachers for our children! Thank you Jesus :) We are so excited for this school year and to meeting other parents, teachers and students at Kensington!
Ryen's classroom is huge and even has it's own bathroom. And... her class is lucky enough to have a full time Teaching Assistant!! Yay for us! :)
Ryen found her cubby and her treat from her teacher, and then curled up with Daddy to read books.
Here she is with her teacher, Mrs. Batson :)
We are looking forward to a great year!

See you on the Bus- Kindergarten meet and greet.
Last year Kristin, a woman who lives in my our neighborhood, had a daughter starting Kindergarten. Her daughter was a little nervous about riding the bus and starting Kinder (understandable). So her Mom had the idea to have this event to help ease her daughter's fears. It was open to any child starting Kindergarten and was a big hit. Such a big hit that she decided to keep having it, and held it again this year, for the new Kindergarteners in our neighborhood. How awesome is that? Lucky us!! So what is this event you ask?? Well it is called See you on the Bus!
When we arrived Ryen got to make herself a name tag. (And one for Mommy). We headed over to a table to do a craft, which was making a 1st Day of School Frame! How cute... Then they lined up to wait for the bus.
Here it is!
They put the kids on the bus and then kept them on there (for maybe a little too long ha ha) while someone from transportation went over bus rules and safety. Then they hopped off. Look how confident my girl looks now!
The kids were given a coloring sheet and a cute dog tag that said "I was good on the bus" or something like that. Then Kristin brought them over for a fun scavenger hunt. There were letters of the alphabet hidden all over this one section (in the trees etc) and the kids ran to find them.
After they found a letter they brought them over to the same letter that was written in sidewalk chalk on the pavement.
After the kids went around the circle and told what their favorite color was and got some colorful skittles. And after the event was over they were given a rice krispie treat for being good listeners and participants. It was such a cute event and a way for parents and Kinders to meet each other and say hello, and get some of the jitters out before the big day!
Thanks for putting this on Kristin! We loved it.
